November Cold Water Challenge 2023

What is the challenge?

The challenge is to complete 120km during the month of July by walking, running or jogging 4km per day all while raising funds for Pieta.

Do I have to run/walk/jog 4km every day?

The challenge is to complete 4km every day however if you miss a day don't worry – you can always catch up the next day.

How do I keep track of how many kilometres I do?

You can use the personal tracker in the leaflet which comes in your pack, just write down how many kilometres you do at the end of each day. Don’t forget to post in the Facebook Group HERE and let us know how you are getting on!

Is there an app I can use to track my kilometres?

You can use STRAVA to track your kilometres. We’ve created a private STRAVA group for all our Jog in July participants. Join it HERE.

How do I know I’ve completed the challenge?

As part of this challenge, you will be asked to set up a ‘Jog in July’ Just Giving Fundraising Page for Pieta, where you can post your skips daily. These pages are linked to Pieta and we’ll be able to see your progress.

How do I register to receive my fitness tracker?

You can register for your fitness tracker HERE.

How do I set up a JustGiving fundraising page?

Once you have completed the registration form https://givp.nl/register/MW1T6bWX, you’ll be asked to set up your Just Giving donation page.

Is there any other way of fundraising other than Just Giving?

You can request a sponsorship card by emailing challenges@pieta.ie

Can I donate instead of fundraising?

Yes, that is no problem. You can donate using this link:  https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/jogoninjuly

I still have not received my T-shirt?

Pieta will only be providing a KM tracker for this challenge. To receive a T-shirt, you must successfully raise a minimum of €250.

Please allow 3-5 working days after this for your T-shirt to arrive. This is a large fundraising event, so please be patient.

Can I take part in this challenge with friends/family/colleagues?

You can absolutely complete this challenge as an organisation or work group. In fact, it is a great team bonding exercise and lots of healthy, competitive fun. Together with your colleagues, you can join our community. It's simple to do and you'll be amazed at how many people will support you. If you would like to know more about getting your workplace involved in this challenge, email challenges@pieta.ie and we’ll let our corporate team know!

I’ve fundraised on Facebook for previous challenges, how come I have to fundraise on Just Giving now?

Starting April 25th, 2024, individuals who haven't previously donated on Facebook or Instagram won't be able to donate to fundraising pages on those platforms. This means that your Facebook/Instagram friends may not be able to contribute if they haven't donated before that date. To ensure support for your fundraising efforts, we recommend using JustGiving. You can share your personal fundraising page for Jog in July with friends, family, and colleagues. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause; unfortunately, this change is entirely beyond our control.

As of 30th June 2024, Facebook will disable all Facebook/Instagram fundraising & donation tools.*
