An exciting role within Pieta toprovide professional and compassionate clinical support to clients who are in suicidal or self-harm crisis, and those bereaved by suicide.
This person will work closely with the Operations Manager of the Pieta Service supporting them in a range of clinical tasks as deemed appropriate.
Role & Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the role of the Psychotherapist - 35 hours is to promote and maintain the ethos of Pieta which is rooted in compassion and care
Exercise clinical judgement and work autonomously within professional guidelines and Pieta policies, procedures, and practice.
Hold and maintain an agreed clinical caseload
Provide evidence informed, brief, strengths based & goal focused interventions
Responsible for assessing client needs and suitability for Pieta services, delivering appropriate therapeutic supports, and facilitating access to other services as appropriate
Provide clinical advice to the other psychotherapists working in the service in line with Pieta policies, procedures and practices
Provide practical and clinical support to the other psychotherapists by providing follow-up where required on cases requiring consultation and liaison with other statutory and voluntary organisations working with clients engaging with Pieta
Oversee file management in-line with GDPR, and confidentiality, ensuring best practice in all areas of clinical management
Consult and collaborate with the Operations Manager
Identify and manage areas of concern, and escalate to the Operations Manager as required and agree the approach and steps to be taken to resolve concerns identified, and implementing this as appropriate.
Complete, and advise on the completion, of client risk assessments and management plans
Work as a member of the team to ensure waiting lists times and numbers are kept within target by working in line with relevant Pieta policies and procedures, and ensuring timely updating of availability of therapist appointments
Work in accordance with Pieta’s Policies, Procedures and Guidelines
Liaise and consult with other professionals in supporting the client as required
Maintain accurate, confidential records of practice in line with professional codes of conduct and Pietas policies and procedures.
Attend external clinical supervision twice per month (paid by Pieta) and attend group supervision internally in Pieta once per month
Attend and actively participate in case management and team meetings, and other meetings as deemed necessary by the Operations Manager
Contribute to clinical research, audit and evaluation of the service as required.
Role model and promote the maintenance of professional and personal boundaries within all services
Provide reports, statistics and other information that may be required by the Operations Manager within agreed timescales
Share information with the Operations Manager, Regional Manager, Pieta team and other services utilizing appropriate meeting and reporting structures
Be open to participating in clinical working/project groups as deemed appropriate by the Operations Manager.
Follow Adult and Child Protection and Safeguarding legislation and policies in all Pieta work and liaise with all relevant agencies as appropriate.
Participate, facilitate and attend training as required and keep up to date with developments in the sector
Deputise for the Operations Manager during periods of leav.
Undertake other duties as required
Essential Education, Skills & Experience required:
A recognized qualification at a minimum Level 8 on the NQAI framework in Counselling / Psychotherapy (a recognised Level 7 in Counselling /Psychotherapy obtained pre-2018 with accreditation will be accepted)
Be a fully accredited Psychotherapist
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient in using Microsoft Office
Be interested in and demonstrate a belief and enthusiasm for the work of Pieta
Experience with databases an advantage (e.g. Salesforce CRM)
Knowledge of Brief Solution Focused Interventions, CBT etc.
Ability to reflect on practice in order to facilitate personal learning, professional development and service improvement
Demonstrate great warmth and the ability to empathize
Strong interpersonal & communication skills
Ability to work co-operatively as part of a team
Strong time management skills and capacity to prioritize competing demands
Ability to foster good working relationships with external agencies and organisations
Ability to fulfil obligations as per the Children First Act 2015
Desirable:
Experience working with clients aged under 18 years old with relevant training and a qualification in this area
